Short Description:

Lviv is a city in western Ukraine. It is situated on the Poltva river about 70 km from the border with Poland. The city was founded by King Danylo Halytskyi of the Ruthenian principality of Halych-Volhynia, and named in honour of his son, Lev.

Lviv is regarded as one of the main cultural centers of today's Ukraine. The historic city center is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
